Sure, you may never sell a piece of art at auction, or see your mural on the side of a building, or hear your music played on the radio. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t create art, if not for the simple enjoyment of….well, creating art.
New scientific studies are looking at the benefits of artistic creation, and how it can help reduce stress and anxiety in adults. As children, we often use creative outlets as a way to focus our attention and help manage our emotions, but as we get older we often put aside these tools because we’ve learned from somewhere that our art, our creation, is “not good enough”. If creating bad art can still be so good, why don’t we do it?
