Americans Are A Lonely Lot, And Young People Bear The Heaviest Burden

Technology promised us all sorts of new ways for connection. Instant messengers, Skype, FaceTime, the age of social media, all of these tools were meant to keep us in connection, no matter how far away we are from each other. The reality of their impact is far more grim. The majority of Americans report feelings of extreme loneliness and isolation, and the very tools that were supposed to offer help are actually doing more harm than good.

So how do we fix this growing epidemic that is not only making us feel bad, but is even negatively affecting our health? This is one of the goals of our programming at The Nexus Center.
